Google Play's testing bar is real — and it's a lot to coordinate alone.

To unlock production access, many developer accounts must run an active closed test with a minimum number of opted-in testers who install and use the app continuously across a set window before Google will review it for release. Finding that many genuine testers, keeping them engaged for the full period, and tracking who's actually completed it is the part most solo developers and small teams get stuck on.

Requirements are set and enforced by Google and can change or vary by account — always confirm the current requirement for your app in Play Console before applying for production access.
